ELA and Social Studies

What a week!
As we come to the end of our second full week, school is in full swing.

Congratulations to all our wonderful 7th graders for their achievements in our Student Government Association and our Mazel Times editorial staff. we have already been hard at work dividing up our roles and starting on our responsibilities.

Our ELA class has been busy with starting our spelling and vocabulary units, journal entries and starting our first literature story.
We are working on the skills of using context to understand grammar rules, and vocabulary.
I can't wait to see these skills out to work by the Mazel Times newspaper staff!

Thanks to the beautiful weather we have been able to spend some of our break time walking down to the bay, coming back refreshed and ready to keep on learning.

In social studies we have looked at how rights and responsibilities work together as a citizen. After that we started our geography unit, looking at how to read a map and   the physical characteristics of the United States.

Looking forward to another fantastic week ahead
Mrs. Raskin
